Day 185 |

Tuesday May 9, 2006. After a weekend of reviewing all the window information, a meeting was held at the house with the window supplier, Terry, Mark and his crew and Bill. In a nutshell, three windows were incorrectly specified and cannot be used and there was incorrect information on the original plans that (due to insufficient communication and assumptions by all parties) resulted in the windows being a variety of sizes under the specified rough opening. This would result in a variety of trim widths around the windows. And the exterior doors were never ordered. After review and discussion, we have decided on a plan that will mitigate the potential aesthetic problems while not requiring a wholesale replacement of all the windows. In the mean time, since Saturday last, the boys have fabricated a temporary door, capped the bay window on the guest wing and started adding fascia to the skirting board. |
