It was a very fine week, weather-wise, so there was lots of opportunity to get work done. It's still slow going because it is a complicated roof, made more so by 10 gables (2 on each wing, 2 in the great room and 4 on the dormers) that all have to be trimmed - as mentioned in Day 141. Also, one of the lads just had a baby so he missed a few days and another was gone Friday when the first was back so they were one short all week. The master wing and all the dormers now have the cedar top trim. The master wing roof is sheeted and ready for shingles. The roof joists are up on the front half of the great room and work has begun putting them up on the back half. They have started framing out the eaves on the guest wing as Mark works on rabetting the cedar into those gables. |
